Upon graduating from U.C.S.B. in 1985 with a double major in Business Economics and Italian, Alex expanded his mother's popular Corona del Mar restaurant Gina's Pizza to North Laguna Beach at the local "Old Style" Boat Canyon Shopping Center. Two years later he purchased his home in the Arch Beach Heights neighborhood of Laguna Beach. He then went on to expand Gina's to six locations with his brother Andy over the course of 22 years. In 2001, his daughter Giana was born and he decided that fatherhood would take precedence over long hours at work and sold his shares of the Family Business to his brother. He loves that Giana was born in Laguna Beach and attends one of the best schools in the world, is already an avid gymnast, and hangs with dad at the beach. "Laguna is a microcosm of how the entire world should live. Political, racial, and social diversity blend together with every possible sub-culture to live in complete harmony and peace with one another. There is no better place to live or work." Upon exiting his restaurant career, Alex got his Real Estate License for investing and managing his own properties and feels fortunate to remain in Laguna Beach now working with long time friend Dani Purcell.
